What Is The Best Hotel On The LAS VEGAS STRIP??

Kristofer-Giesler, 2008-06-15 06:31:13
My fiance and I are planning on travelling to Las Vegas next Dec/Jan (for the new year 08/09) to celebrate us being together 10 years.I was just wondering what hotel people would recommend. We would like a hotel preferably in the centre of the strip so we are close to other amenities and not miles out of the way. We will both be 25 and will be leaving the children with grandparents so a lively hotel is not a problem. If im honest I would rather stay in a basic/nice/clean hotel and have more money to spend out there than to stay in a big swanky hotel, feel totally out of place and have hardly any money to spend.Regardless of what hotel you stay in, can you still use/visit the other hotels to use their amenities eg. shows at bellagio, casino at planet hollywood, shops at newyork newyork etc.. or are you confined to your hotel..How close are the hotels to each other?? Can u walk up/down the strip?I dont mind a walk but id rather be within reasonable distance between them.xxx

The Venetian is a great place. Big, flashy, and if you join online you can get some incredible rates! Especially for when you are going. The spa is great. As a mom, I would reccommend staying away from the Mirage casinos, they tend to atttract families, which I am not knocking. But if you are leaving your kids at home, do you really want other kids around? Ceasars, nice but a little over the top in prices. Save your money for other stuff. We now stay at The Flamingo Hilton. We love the pool. Yes there are kids, but not too many. The new towers are really. Have fun!

We stayed there last year and it was great, large room everything you needed but price was great. You are free to go in and out of all the other hotels on the strip in fact thats probably the only thing you will do. The strip is about 3 miles long and you just walk from one hotel to another popping in and out on the way with so much to see it doesn't seem so bad but take comfy shoes. There are buses but with traffic they are the long way. The new monorail seems to go behind the hotels so not good for views. Lots of the bar shows are great so you might find you don't get to see a real show. There are shops in lots of hotels and I think Vegas is as good a place as anywhere in US for bargains.

Treasure Island I know they have a massive casino and close to the center (Mirage is the center). Treasure Island I suggested because about 3 blocks to New York New York. The hotels are close, you can walk up and down the strip, and think you could go into the other hotels (did it in Mandalay hotel to see the shark). Treasure Island is the best choice for basic/nice/clean hotel and great for kids (has 3 pools). The Venetian, of course! free strip poker video. it is elegant, very nice, and it has a boat that takes you on a romantic ride! And it is in the center of the strip......

(water form of mystere. also phantom of the opera/venetian. caesar's has someone like cher or bette. magicians everywhere. more and more to chose from.don't miss a buffet, one price and you get all you can eat salads, entres, desserts, with non-alcoholic beverage.

Like someone said, it's several miles long but walking is the best way to get around. Since it's your first time I'd highly recommend walking from end to end at least once during the day and at least once at night. If you go into every major building, it will take you hours to do just that. That said, stay near the middle.

I stayed at the imperial palace. Awesome place...didnt spend much time here besides the room to change, shower, take a nap, sleep. Right in the middle of everything. 4 days and 3 nights from PA to Vegas was about 0/each including taxes. Pretty good for 2 people. Oil prices is making everything closer to 0 now. I got the same days/nights 2 years ago at the Luxor for 0!!! but that was then and a super deal. WED to Saturday and leave Saturday evening. Luxor was super nice but a little far away from everything.

  • Good, clean, basis Strip hotels are : Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Tropicana, Flamingo, Riveria, Excalibur and the Sahara.
  • You will get a better rate at these hotels than at the swankier ones and you really are just going to sleep and shower in your room, right?
  • They all have fine casinos and many good restaurants.
  • You're free to wander wherever you want here in Vegas.
  • Go to Caesar's Forum Shops, watch the Bellagio fountains, the Sirens of TI, the Mirage volcano.
  • Go see the Wynn and check out all the casinos.
  • You'll also want to go downtown to see the Fremont St.
  • Experience.
  • New Years Eve is our biggest night of the year.
  • It will be crowded.
  • They block the Strip to auto traffic and people just party in the street.
  • And the weather is nice and cool, (cold even at night) so you'll be comfortable walking around.
  • Bear in mind tho, two things.
  • #1 Things are not as close as they seem as our blocks are very long.
  • One of our city blocks is like 10 in any other city.
  • and #2 Traffic....people visiting Vegas typically drive the Strip all the while looking up at the attractions and not paying attention to where they are driving, so please be very careful walking the Strip.
  • If the sign says "Don't Walk" then don't walk.
  • We have a good many pedestrians getting hit by cars on the Strip.
  • Just this morning a car plowed into a crowd on the Strip in front of the M & M factory and put 8 people in the hospital.

All the hotels to some degree smell strongly of cigarette smoke...Caesar's Palace actually smells of fresh air instead of smoke, but it's very expensive. Please do not attempt to walk the strip, the hotels are a lot farther away than they look. Even walking to the next hotel can take the wind out of you if it's during the heat of the summer. For instance, The Bellagio to Paris. Don't do it! free strip poker video. It looks close, but it's quite far away. If you want to see the whole strip, I recommend taking a bus...don't walk the length of more than 3 casinos, and remember that however far you walk you must walk back! free strip poker video. You are in no way confined to your hotel, that would be bad for business. Eat other places, shop other places, gamble other places. Just on food, you do get a discount where you are staying if you show them the room key. Shows too, if I'm not mistaken. But you can see shows anywhere you want to, and there are some amazing ones you really shouldn't miss. Have fun! free strip poker video. December/January is a great time to come because there aren't as many tourists and the weather is actually tolerable.
