Las Vegas "Downtown" Or The "Strip"? Which Is Better?

Georgetta-Enderly, 2007-03-05 06:10:53
I have been to Vegas about 4 times or so in the past 15 years, mostly not by choice. 1 time for a bowling tournament,2 times for a convention ,and I also won a trip there also. The first time I was there I visitied the downtown area just to see what all the hype was about and was not that impressed. I haven't been back to the downtown area since. The crowd was much different there, mostly that is where the locals go,and "seedy" individuals seemed to congregate there more than on the strip. I took my picutre of the giant cowboy, had a buffet ,played a few slots, and couldn't wait to get back on the strip. When in Vegas it probably is a good idea to rent a car, even though if you are on the strip the moving sidewalks, and the tram does make it easier to move around on the strip. The shopping is much better and that is where the action is really at,with all the shows and entertainment. Plus ,I felt much safer on the strip than the downtown area. Opinions? Stories?

I adore the light show, and the enclosed space where you can walk in the street video strip poker supreme crack. I found some very interesting street vendors there, but, I wouldn't go there by myself, I would definitely want a male escort. The casinos do look rather seedy and I didn't go into any. I loved the water show at Biagio as well as the show at the Rio video strip poker supreme crack. I took the Gondola ride at the Venetian, and I have to say, going at night was most romantic, and you didn't have to deal with the glare off the water from the sun. I loved Vegas. Can't wait to go back.

THE STRIP HANDS DOWN! i make a trip to vegas every year and only stay on the strip. much better in my book! i had a strip itch after spending an hour downtown! if you enjoy ancient buildings and machines, then you can totally be yourself in downtown las vegas... lol!

On Friday and Saturday nights Freemont is one of the best times you can have in this city. It is more laid back than the strip, not overly pretentious at all video strip poker supreme crack. The area is just as safe as the strip, maybe even safer due to the small enclosed area video strip poker supreme crack. You can still get great food at old Las Vegas prices downtown, and the slots pay WAY better than on the strip!

My opinion is that the downtown is more ghetto to a visitor's eyes but is probably just the locals that go there. The strip is better because everything is newer there, the larger hotels and casinos are there and so is most of the attractions. I would stay on the strip rather than in downtown anyday....even with the large $ difference. I just prefer the more "touristy" feel with all the other people....

(talking into consideration the roller coasters, rides, etc) (more than 40 maybe) and it is ever changing, then if you came long ago, coming now will be like shocking! i can send it to you via email... free shows... (as many as nightclubs) "what happens in vegas stays in vegas... there is so much to do in vegas that you would need to come two week and even you would see everything or do everything you can do here... but then i moved here, is not much fun if you live here... (more than 30 maybe) lounges... for any questions or if you want the guide to las vegas just contact me @:cra_88@hotmail.com (many without taking into consideration the free shows) and i will give you some idea of which are the highest rated and most popular.... shows... i used to love vegas and i used to come to vegas all the time, almost 4 times per year for vacacitions... it changes in a daily basis almost.... las vegas strip is way better, i would never go to downtown if i were a tourist in vegas... (at least 15) stay on a hotel on the strip and don't rent a car... night clubs... i actually made a guide for my ex-boss that came to vegas some weeks ago.. if you need a complete guide of what you can do in vegas, just email me to cra_88@hotmail.com walk... but still i love the strip!.... save the money and expend it in a reasonable priced hotel in the strip... and welll, remember... and just walk from there anywhere in the strip....

The casinos have lots more atmosphere than the plastic strip, especially Binion's, the Golden Nugget, the Four Queens and of course, the Golden Gate. Table minimums are lower and perfectly decent hotel rooms are very cheap. Plus, you walk your feet off on the Strip. Give me Downtown anytime.
